Killington Mountain
The largest ski and snowboard resort in eastern North America, Killington celebrates its 50th birthday on Dec. 13, 2008 with more than $8.4 million in on-mountain improvements, including the new Skye Peak Express, ski trails, efficiency upgrades to the world's most extensive snowmaking system and expanded environmental programs. In addition to the new Skye Peak Express and new trail enhancements, Killington debuts The Stash, an all natural terrain park located off the shoulder of Skye Peak and accessible by the Skye Peak Express. Killington's Stash is one of only five that exist worldwide and the only one on the East Coast. Plus, a new 500-foot Magic Carpet at Snowshed improves the uphill learning experience for beginner skiers and riders in the Killington Ski and Snowboard School, and Burton Learn to Ride Programs. A new beginner trail and a more advanced trail off Skye Peak also debut for the 08/09 season.
Pico Mountain
Pico is one of Vermont's largest mountains. How big? It has more vertical drop than 80% of the downhill ski areas in New England. Those 1,967 feet are spread over 50 trails and 214 skiable acres, with lots of choices for all abilities.One of Pico's most enjoyable attributes is that it is undeniably a big mountain with a small ski area's personal touch. There are mogul trails, glades, and groomed steeps, but all the trails lead back to the same base area.
Bromley Mountain
Bromley is Vermont's Sun Mountain, the only mountain in Vermont with Southern Exposure. With sun all day long, even the coldest days feel warm. Bromley has long been an ideal resort for family Vermont ski vacations, and was voted #1 in North America by Ski magazine for Family Programs. In addition Bromley was ranked #3 in the East by Ski Magazine for value! Bromley's grooming and snowmaking are second to none and with our 44 trails of varied terrain, from treed glades & true New England cruisers to sun soft expert mogul fields, everyone in your family will be smiling all day long. Our terrain parks invite the adventurous, but for the safe rather than sorry crowd, briefly view the snowboarding tricks, jumps & spills from the high speed quad lift line. Bromley also offers great deals for Group trips and tours. If you thought winter was our only gig, guess again-the Bromley Thrill Zone in the summer is Vermont's Sun Fun Park. The Alpine Slide & Big Splash Water Slide Ride, along with PigDogs Fun Park for the kids and many more attractions, make Bromley the Vermont amusement park to be at this summer.
Twitchell House Antiques
Twitchell House offers a unique experience for those seeking some true Vermont and New England furnishings. It’s not simply the offerings at Twitchell that makes it so special it is the way you find the treasure that may interest you. With a barn that welcomes you with a flashlight to guide you through its dark stalls full to the ceiling with old work furnishings and a seasonal tent with ever changing specials the yard is a destination all its own. But still you have to walk inside for a room by room tour of an 1800’s home full of everything you could ever want. Prices are reasonable and the service is above all. If you can think of anything that they don’t have they will simply put it on the list and track it down. The only negative is that you will not want to leave. Only 13 miles East on Rt. 30 from our flagship store, it is a great way to spend some time.
